We review your application based on your answers regarding your sport, location, readiness for change, and desired support.

RECOMMENDATION

Based on the review, you will be recommended to join either Tier 1 or Tier 2 of the program.

what to expect with each tier

tier 1: nutrition counseling

  • Discovery Call Setup: You will be asked to set up a discovery call with one of our performance dietitians. We match you based on your sport, location, goals, and background. This is the Performance Dietitian we think you will work with best based on your initial form. 
  • Learn More: Chat with the dietitian during the call to learn more about the program and how you will work together.
  • Onboarding: Once you decide the program is right for you, you will begin the onboarding process with Lilly, our onboarding lead. Lilly will get you prepped and ready to go with your dietitian.
  • Individualized Start: We will conduct an individualized onboarding session to review paperwork and assess your current fueling habits before beginning the work together.

  • Four-Month Framework: You will be guided through our four-month period recovery program framework via educational modules
  • Resources: Access to our Athlete Cookbook and the Period Recovery Guide.
  • Support & Planning:
  • Weekly goal setting.
  • An initial onboarding survey to help us provide an individualized roadmap for you to follow.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Period Recovery Program (with counseling) is a minimum 4-month commitment. Our self guided version of the Period Recovery program contains a recommended viewing and implementation timeline that also follows our 4 month structure but all information is immediately available upon purchase of the Self Paced program if you plan to implement things on a different timeline.

Recovery takes time, and we’ve found that four months allows for progress while giving you the consistent support you need. Many athletes choose to continue with ongoing coaching after the initial program ends.

We do accept HSA/FSA cards as payment, either broken into monthly payments or you may pay in full. Our coaching model is concierge-based, which means support extends well beyond the sessions themselves. This allows us to provide a high level of individualized attention, messaging support, and strategy between calls. You can find information on using your HSA/FSA by contacting your own HSA provider or we can provide more after you apply to the program.

We also can provide a superbill after the program is over if you have out of network benefits. You will need a letter of medical necessity and diagnosis from a physician for this to be possible. 

Yes, we require that you check in with your physician or healthcare provider before starting either level of the program. It is important to rule out any medical conditions that may be contributing to your missing or irregular period. Receiving a Letter of Medical Necessity is not required, but may help with approval of HSA payments for the counseling program.

It varies from person to person, but if you are consistent and committed to the fueling and recovery process, most of our athletes see their period return in about 2–5 months.

If you are a female athlete that does not have a period, we recommend our Period Recovery Program. Depending on the resources you need, you will be recommended either the self paced or counseling option.

The counseling option is best for athletes who would like live counseling and support/accountability from their individual Performance Dietitian.

If you are interested in just the education component and would like to implement independently, we recommend the self paced option of the Period Recovery Program 

Absolutely! We specialize in working with women of all sport level, you do not need to be training or competing to be a part of this program. If you’ve lost your period and want personalized support to get it back, we’re here for you no matter your sport, fitness level, or background.

You’re always welcome! While the program is designed to guide you through recovery in four months, many of our athletes choose to continue beyond to ensure continual periods and maximize performance. Once you’re part of the SSPN family, you’ll always have the option to continue monthly coaching calls and ongoing support, based on your needs and goals.
Additionally, the self paced program will be yours for life and you can reference back to it as needed.
